Standfast shipyard: The history

The name of Frans Maas is most commonly associated with Standfast Yachts. Frans' father Jacob L. Maas together with his brother Krijn Maas founded the yard in 1935 at Breskens.

Frans himself joined Standfast Yachts in 1953 when he was 18 years old and has been working here since then. Nowadays Frans still joines the company as senior Yacht Designer, Engineer and Consultant. His knowledge about, experience and feeling with building boats, sailing and winning races seems unlimited.
